Land with 3.480,00 m2 53 Meters of Walled Front Sea View and Serra Capelas is a village and seat of Azorean parish of the municipality of Ponta Delgada, with 16.84 km² of area and 4 080 inhabitants (2011). The population density is 242.3 inhabitants per km². It is located at latitude 37.833 (37°50') North and longitude 25.6833 (25°41') West, being at an altitude of 60 meters. The main activity is agriculture and the production of mira tea. It is bathed by the Atlantic Ocean. It has mountains to the south. The historical and cultural heritage of this parish is enriched by a set of fountains and sinks, which have recently been the subject of restorations. Many manors embellish this village, materializing the period of the "orange economy" of the nineteenth century, highlighting the Solar do Conde dos Fenais. Seeking to preserve some crafts and cultural traditions that were once part of wealth for various families, today some activities are developed in the field of animal hardware, tailoring, embroidery and weaving, and small works of miniatures and restorations. The landscape of Capelas is marked by panoramic viewpoints and windmills, whose typology is divided between the Dutch type and the French mill of the northern regions.
